Leadership Team

Chris Zimmerman, Principal

Welcome to Cimarron Middle School in Parker, Colorado. It is an honor to be the principal in such an incredible community. I graduated from the University of Northern Colorado, with a Bachelor's degree in Statistics. I pursued my passion and started my career in education at Valley High School and Liberty Middle School before moving to Douglas County School District. With these experiences, I am honored to be a part of Cimarron Middle School’s staff. I have been fortunate to be a part of the Legend feeder since opening as a math teacher, assistant principal, and principal. My wife is a teacher in DCSD and we are so excited for our two kids to begin their education in the Legend feeder. I have always had a passion for being around students and supporting others in their pursuit to achieve their goals. I believe in Cimarron’s mission in building relationships that help foster a positive learning environment. I look forward to partnering with you to build a great foundational middle school experience.

I am so excited to be joining the Cimarron family this year!  I graduated from Metropolitan State University with a Bachelors in Biology and then earned my Masters in Education Leadership from Regis University.  This will be my eleventh year in education.  During that time I taught middle school science for six years and then served as a middle school assistant principal for four years prior to my new role here at Cimarron.   My heart and passion lies with supporting middle school students, staff, and families.  I believe that by providing safe learning environments coupled with top notch instruction, every child can succeed academically and become a life-long learner with a focus on individual growth.  My husband and I, along with our daughter recently moved to Douglas County from the Denver area.  We couldn't be happier with the community and all that it offers.  I am so grateful for the opportunity to join this outstanding team, and I am ready to support the Cimarron community

I am so excited to help lead this amazing school! This is my 19th year in public education and all of them have been at the middle level. I am from Gillette, Wyoming, am married to my lovely wife Ann, and we have two beautiful boys, Hudson who is 9, and Hanes who is 5. My family and I live in this great community and we are very passionate about education and doing what is best for students. I value and strive to help students and adults reach their full potential and I am looking forward to applying this work at Cimarron Middle School. It's an honor to serve here! Go Colts!

I am so thrilled to be joining the Cimarron family!  Being born and raised in Nepal, I grew up looking at the beautiful mountains. My educational journey brought me to Minnesota, where I completed my Bachelor's and Master's degree in speech-language pathology.  Since I missed the mountains so much, I moved to Colorado with my wonderful husband in 2015.  I worked at three different schools in low socio-economic neighborhoods in Denver for a year before moving to Douglas County School District.  I have been fortunate to work with students in preschool, elementary, middle, and high school throughout my career.  My lifelong hunger for learning made me want to pursue a Master's Degree in Educational Leadership, which brought me to Cimarron!  Educating the whole child is a philosophy I believe in which requires all stakeholders' support.  I value relationships and teamwork and look forward to getting to know the students, staff, families, and the community at Cimarron.  I am so glad to be a part of an amazing team!
